Genetics?

I'm not totally convinced that genes have anything to do with anything.

One time, before Mason was born (but after this) I went to a website where you put in your parents' eye colors, your eye color, your spouse's eye color and his parents' eye color, click the little clicker and BAM, it predicts your future kid's eye color. Only, I didn't get that far. My parents both have blue eyes and I do not. And the website just could not wrap its head around that. ERROR! Not possible! If your parents both have blue eyes the only option for you is blue. Are you following me here?

Tim got his Mom's exact eye color, which is sort of brown, but three of his siblings have blue eyes like their dad. Isn't brown supposed to be dominant?

So now you have one not-blue-eyes and one sort-of-brown eyes. Put 'em together and what do you get?

A Newer New Baby

Mason is pretty sure that all his old infant toys are now his new infant toys. And since Brielle wants nothing to do with anything except a parent's arms, he has them all to himself.

Life slow-mo

Basically, here's what I do: Cuddle, eat and feed, cuddle, bathe, cuddle, lots of laundry, cuddle. You get the idea. Things seem to have really slowed down to let me soak in the adorableness of our baby ducky. And she has a lot of it.

HI!

Meanest mom ever!

In other news, we did this to our wall.
Before

After

Now what in the heck do I put up there?

Also... SNOW!

It's just a game

The other night  my brother Miles and his wife Betsey came over and before long we started up a rad game of Catchphrase. If you're not familiar, you basically pass around a little machine with phrases on it and everyone takes turns trying to get their teammate to guess the phrase. It's Miles' turn, and Tim is on his team.

Miles: Ok, it rises in the morning, opposite of the moon.

Tim: The sun.

Miles: Yes, ok, now....uh.....ok, a ghetto way to say that.

Tim: What??

Miles: A ghetto way to say THAT. THAT.

Catchphrase: BEEEEEEEP

Miles: It was "Dat Sun."

Betsey: You mean Datsun? That's a car.

Everyone: (Laughing with hysteria) You thought a Datsun was the ghetto way of saying THAT SUN!?

Taking Charge

Today I am on my own. Tim left us this morning to go back to work, which means there is no one to wrestle the little guy who learned how to throw a temper tantrum this week. (Bright side, he also learned how to dance!) Mason has been Tim's constant shadow since Brielle came along. He has not been a fan of me or the new addition.

However, today has gone remarkably well. Both children have been bathed, smeared with good-smelly baby lotion, fed and cuddled. Then I figured, since both kids are clean at the same time, I better document.

Mason is ok with touching the baby, he is NOT ok with the baby touching him. After he tried to smother her with his hands and push her off the bed I decided he might need a little more adjustment time before we schedule another photo op.
