BUS

Tim's grandpa, Delbert 'Bus' Bingham, passed away early last week. It was such a blessing to get to know him over the past six years. Have I talked about him before? Um...yes, just a little bit here. (There are a couple more articles about him here and here) We tried to visit him every Sunday the way Tim and his family did their whole lives. He had a great relationship with all of his Grandparents because of that tradition and I hope I can give my kids the same benefit.

We'll miss the rootbeer floats and skittles at his house, but mostly we'll miss the stories of his basketball days at Weber and Utah State, driving the summer tour buses, his days as glider pilot in WWII, and many more. He loved Mason and would always let us know what a bright boy we have. Even though he's gone, it's a comfort to know that he's back with the sweetheart he's been longing to join for over ten years.

A Weekend Trip

My younger brother Miles got married in Sacramento over the weekend, so we flew on down and made a vacation out of it. It was the first time we have taken Mason on a plane and it was an adventure. The little guy did really well. Even though he was exhausted for both flights he loved the plane.

We went to San Francisco first and got there before the rest of the family, so we went to the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve to see the sea lions and tide pools. It was a perfect, sunny, fogless day at the beach. Mason absolutely loved it - laughing the whole time. I love the rocky beaches of Northern California so I was in heaven.

Then it was off to a walk on the Golden Gate Bridge.

 

That night we met up with my family for some seriously good Italian and hot tubbing with the Canadians. Next morning...Pier 39. We went to the Aquarium of the Bay and had some clam chowder bread bowls (well everyone except Tim had clam chowder).

Then, of course, the beach again.

Don't worry, this post won't go on indefinitely, just a little longer. That night, a car tour of the Fisherman's Wharf and Chinatown, and sushi.

 

And last but not least, the wedding. It was so fun! Miles was such a handsome groom with his beautiful bride, Betsey. We are so excited to have her in the family!

Out and About

Tim and I finally had our first real date since Mason came along. It was nice to get out and act like people. We had dinner at the fabulous Tucci's, which I love. And where I took this amazingly skilled photograph.

 

Then we went to a laser show at the Clark Planetarium which was very very loud and cool, even though they didn't play most of the songs I voted for. If you ever plan to visit, be warned, you loose your mind (and balance?) on Mars and the Moon. And what do you know, Mason just woke up from his nap and this post is now done.

Much Ado

So. Here are a couple of updates.

First off - We had a GNO [herbal] tea party during priesthood session last week. I loved it. Betsey, my little brother Miles' fiance, joined Em and my mom and I for some tea and crumpets, and a bunch of other good food.
 

 

Then this weekend Jess, Heather and I threw Erin a baby shower at my house. She is due next month and I can't wait to meet her little girl! It was fun getting all the food and decorations together, even if one did look like a giant spider on the ceiling.
 

 

 

 

That night we had our friends Ryan and Shalee over for some BBQ. Their little girl Makaybree is about four months older than Mason, but you'd never guess by size. Here are the two of them together when Mason was just a few weeks old...

Cowboy

On Saturday morning, Tim and I took Mason for a drive and we ended up at Tom and Monica's in Taylor. They have a little over an acre farm with horses, goats and dogs. I love it there. Mason got to meet some puppies up close that didn't run away like Casper when he grabbed hold of their fur. He loved their little licks.

 

I didn't wear very smart shoes.

The best part though - Thomas taught Tim how to rope a goat. They practiced on a dummy for a while, then let the goats loose. Tim roped one around the neck on his first try! It was hilarious.
